Municipal Court

The Shelton Municipal Court is located in the Civic Center at 525 West Cota Street. The Court is located on the first floor of the Civic Center and is the first door on the left when entering through the front doors of the Civic Center. The Municipal Court is an independent branch of government, constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes to preserve the rule of law and protect the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States, Washington state, and the City of Shelton. The presiding judge of the Municipal Court is Judge Stephen Greer.

The Municipal Court is responsible for the administration of justice in the City of Shelton, by:
  • Hearing and determining infraction cases and criminal offenses (misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor offenses) occurring within Shelton city limits
  • Providing all traditional courtroom services such as arraignment hearings, pre-trial hearings, trials (bench and jury), and post-trial hearings
