The backbone of any Police Department is the Patrol Division.  The Shelton Police Department Patrol  Division is comprised of 3 Sergeants, 9 Officers and 3 Reserve Officers.  The Patrol Division is responsible for peace, safety, crime prevention, crime suppression, investigation of crimes, arrest of offenders and arbitration of family and neighborhood disputes.

These officers patrol the City of Shelton, 24 hours a day 365 days a year, they patrol 6.11 square miles.

The Shelton Police Department responded to 10,218 calls for service, 2,354 case reports were generated, 556 criminal citations and 363 infractions were issued and 187 reportable traffic accidents were handled.  The Shelton Police Department responded to an average of 28 calls a day and 23% of all calls generate a paper report. 

The Shelton Police Department continues to work with our citizens to build a stronger community together.
